I so felt like I was in a theatre, watching acting, experiencing a play and sitting next to a most aging audience – and that ain’t good folks.  I was never transported away.  It looked like a play, moved like a play, and made me question my love of plays.

The play could NOT have been more predictable.  The prodigal son comes home to his wealthy, successful brother.  He needs a place to stay.  Got it  He is going to take advantage of them.  Got it.  He reveals he once slept with his brothers sister.  Got it.  Rich bother comes back with confession of his affair.  Got it.  Poor bother claims terminal cancer – but then no – but then yes – and we are in hospice trying to eeek some worthwhile moment with the nether.  But it is too late.  I saw every move coming.  I could almost see the outline of the plot clearly laid out on a note pad as our playwright just checked them off one by one.  And I didn’t care about anyone – so unfortunately a scene in hospice meant nothing to me.  Lord there is nothing worse then going to the theatre and seeing the OUTLINE of a play,  It felt like I was back in grad school.
