With his goggles on he is able to see audience members sleeping, focusing on each other, worried by their train home, and actually focused on the play itself.Β It really did make me wonder if virtual reality will ever offer live theatre some competition.Β It is intriguing to speculate on a performance which you can place yourself on-stage as on elf the characters interacting with the others.Β The performance of βvirtual King Learβ was interspersed with pieces of monologues all directed toward the existential nature of life where nothing really matters and everything is a fraud.Β It was a clever evening but never really meaningful or insightful.Β I worry that so much talk of how nothing, including this performance matters, and no one attending the performance matters, and, in fact, the performer himself, doesnβt matter might hit at waisted time at the theatre
