This two-man play was set at a stakeout with two FBI agents watching a family in a trailer across the way. In the trailer there seems to be a family having a bit of a fight with a father soon to be abandoning the family – – but we can’t be too sure of that. In the Stakeout, the two agents MAY be father and son or are they son and father. Hard to say. All of these confusion keep us guessing to the end.
The dialogue was very funny. The games these two men play while waiting are hilarious and a few were quite touching. For some reason my favorite droll moment int he play was from one of the agent who claimed to do some theatre in high school – he claimed to ply a hamster in a ply entitled, ” Got a Hamster.” . . . I guess you had to be there. I had a great time and the incredibly touching final moment of the playing the tin can and string telephone was very moving as the father and son had a “phone” conversation over an impossibly long string. Will any communication be possible on this Stakeout?
I would say to go and see it, but, like all things fringe, they come and go in a moment.
