It was so wonderful to say goodbye to the proscenium arch and be invited into a bar setting and be made at home with this group of musicians who were doubling as actors. Every feature and prop of the bar was brought into the story as was every nook and corner of the bar. The music was top notch. I would have been happy to have just listened to them play the music set without the play attached – – but with the play added it was just terrific. Our main character Beau was a gifted actor that was incredibly charismatic and a most confident singer. He was also cute to boot! You can tell that this is a very young company with a very new story and their enthusiasm was over the top! The plot was a rather predictable one – but the music made it all seem new. I so wished the play had a longer run, but I am worried that good as it is – it would not survive to a much bigger venue. It is so essential to go out and support new plays/musicals and venues and Beau is the exact type of show that demands your support
