I felt it made them all more comfortable on stage and thus took away a bit of the “edge” they had when I originally saw it – – and they didn’t know quite what they had. I also felt that the characters were beginning to to be in different plays some (i.e. Eric McCormack) and others were in a British farce with its attention to to verbal theatrics – – while Alex Moffat and a few others were so clearly in a French farce with its over-the-top physical reactions – – – I just felt they were in two different plays. It was interesting to see how polarized the play was becoming. It still is a terrific night in the theatre – but it really paid off to be in those early audiences.
