It is no mystery that Russia got very involved in the recent election, and their efforts to support Donald Trump and sabotage the success of Hilary Clinton are well documented facts.Β BUT – the play shows you exactly HOW they got the job done.Β They created massive social media accounts and encouraged insidious, outrageous lies (i.e. Hilary was supporting a child pedophilia crime ring under the tunnels of Disney World). Yes- even something as STUPID as that could be mentioned in a hundred tweets and posts and soon others would be tempted to bite on to them, believe them, elaborate on them, and spam them out to the internet to breed like germs.
These internet workers in the play suffered a grave loss near the end of the play as Donald Trump was found to share on national television, the grab the p**** line. They thought that could be the end of Mr. Trump’s career. They were tasked to reverse this trend in favor of Donald Trump. They took to the Internet and spread so much information about grabbing a p**** that the American market got saturated with this comment, and begin to accept it as just another good old boy turn of phrase that soon didn’t raise the eyebrow of anybody. It was so interesting to see how they could bring damage to someone so quickly, and bring someone from an obvious fall back to grace.Β Russia had found a whole new way of βlynchingβ Americans.
The play ended with a very striking set of images. As the audience left the theater, there were projections across the stage of all the actual tweets that were posted against Hillary Clinton, accusing her of every possible thing under the sun, and how much interest they all generated. It just made you sick to think of the power of the Internet and how quick and believable everything that you read became accepted as fact. This was the scariest play I’ve seen in a long, long time and the most important one for the audience.
