Well, I saw it before. Â Here were my thought 6 months ago: http://nyctheatreaddict.com/afterglow/Â . Â Now what would lead me back to see a show a second time – – which I have only done a handful of time in over 30 years of NYC theatre going? Â Could nudity be a part of the answer? Â Damn right. Â There is a place for the sordid and exploitive. Â Not all theatre needs to uplift or enlighten. Â Sometimes two dudes in a shower is enough for a Friday night in NYC.
What changed in the show? Â Well they kept the two principal characters and changed to a new LMT hottie. Â Other than that it was much the same. Â The new LMT couldn’t quite hit the already low marks of his predecessor – but he perhaps wore a towel a bit better. Â I recognized that all of the charm I found in the dialogue the first time out was a bit misplaced. Â This thing really creaks. Â I also noted how the last moment of the story ends on a most dark, uncomfortable edge that the story has trouble preparing you for – – but, good grief – – is that why you came to the theatre. Â Not for this show. Â It does not disappoint.
